About Us
The Group of Gravitation and Cosmology exists as a research center within the Department of Mathematics in University of the Punjab which is the pioneering group in Pakistan working in the field of relativistic astrophysics with a good track record of participation in National and International collaborations/conferences, playing an important role in the study of theoretical aspects of Einstein’s gravity.
Many of the key ideas in modern cosmology and gravitational theory originated within this group, including key contributions in modified gravity theories. Our aim is to present new theories of our universe which are both mathematically consistent and observationally testable.

Condolences on passing of Professor Dr. Ghulam Shabbir It is with deep sorrow to announce the death of one of the GGC advisory committee members, Prof. Dr. Ghulam Shabbir (1968-2021). Ghulam Shabbir was a distinguished teacher and researcher whose name is inscribed in the chronicles of science and forever imprinted in the hearts of his disciples, colleagues and followers.
